A legal interdisciplinary hub between academic research, private entities and public institutions, the only one in Italy, where research and training are particularly focused on food law with a strong emphasis/view on food sustainability and innovation.
The pillars of the Food for Future project are: a) five research groups working in synergy with other departments of the University, b) a Master of Law (LLM) taught in English, c) international partnerships, d)dissemination and training events. Food for Future aims to be a legal reference point for future generations’ students that aim to acquire a broader view on the new challenges of law, considered crucial for a truly sustainable future.
Key Goals
RESEARCH
We develop research programmes focused on innovation and sustainability in the agri-food sector both nationally and internationally.
TRAINING
A range of pre- and post-graduate training courses, delivered with innovative and experiential teaching methods.
INTERNATIONALIZATION
Food is a global language. We promote international mobility for our students, researchers and teachers to establish new partnerships with universities and foreign research centres.
SUPPORT
We support organizations and institutions towards the adoption of policies and regulatory solutions able to guarantee a new sustainable awareness.
THE COURSE GLOBAL FOOD LAW
An interdisciplinary Master of Laws, taught in English, with the participation of Professors from other Departments of our University, with prestigious visiting Professors and new methods of experiential learning.
RESEARCH
Cutting-edge/pioneering legislative and regulatory solutions, technical and scientific innovation and economic, social and environmental sustainability in the agri-food sector, consumers’ protection, safeguard of health and the environment.
Department of Excellence
The Department of Law, Political and International Studies of the University of Parma has been included by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) in the prestigious list of Departments of Excellence for the five-year period 2023-2027.
